Zero Waste is a sustainable lifestyle aimed at minimizing the amount of trash we send to landfills, incinerators, and our oceans. Instead of a linear economy (Take \rightarrow Make \rightarrow Waste), zero waste promotes a circular economy where resources are continuously reused, repurposed, or composted.

To easily adopt this in daily life, you can follow the structured 5R Framework.

Refuse: Say no to items you don’t need. This includes single-use plastic straws, free promotional plastic pens, flyers, and plastic carry bags.
Reduce: Decrease the overall volume of things you buy. Focus on intentional purchasing and shifting away from consumerism.
Reuse: Replace disposable items with durable, reusable alternatives. Repair broken items instead of throwing them away.
Recycle: For waste that cannot be refused, reduced, or reused, sort it properly (glass, aluminum, paper) so it can be reprocessed into new materials.
Rot (Compost): Divert organic kitchen waste from landfills by turning it into nutrient-rich compost for plants
