Role Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Video Editor (Freelance / Part-time) who can transform raw footage into compelling, high-retention YouTube content.

This is not just basic editing - we need someone who understands:

• YouTube storytelling
• Viewer psychology
• Clean, modern editing aesthetics

Key Responsibilities

• Edit 1–2 long-form YouTube videos per week (10–15 minutes each)
• Craft engaging narratives with strong pacing and flow
• Add relevant b-roll, overlays, and visual storytelling elements
• Incorporate sound effects and background music to enhance engagement
• Create YouTube Shorts / Instagram Reels from long-form videos
• Apply clean motion graphics and text animations
• Ensure videos are optimised for retention and watch time

Required Skills & Tools

• Proficiency in:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• Final Cut Pro
• DaVinci Resolve
• After Effects (for motion graphics)
• Strong understanding of:
• YouTube editing styles & trends
• Retention techniques (pattern interrupts, hooks, pacing)
• Storytelling and content structuring
• Ability to independently select:
• B-roll
• Music
• Visual enhancements

Experience Level

• Mid-level to Expert
• Must have proven experience editing YouTube content
• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality, engaging edits is essential

Compensation

• Competitive pay (based on experience and quality)
• Flexible structure: per-video or monthly retainers possible
