Role Overview

Transform raw Steve Keen footage into engaging YouTube videos that drive Rebel Economist course enrollments. Edit economics lectures, podcast clips, and explainer animations explaining complex models (sectoral balances, Minsky cycles) for 100K+ subscribers.

Core Responsibilities

YouTube Video Production (70%)

Weekly Output: 1-3 long-form videos (15-25 min) + 5 Shorts/Reels Raw Footage: Google Drive/Zoom recordings of Steve's lectures Target: 8-12% CTR, 50% retention @ 30 seconds

Content Types
  • Main Videos: Economics deep dives (MMT, debt dynamics) with b-roll, charts, animations
  • Shorts: 15-60s hooks ("Why MMT beats Neoclassical", "Godley table in 30s")
  • Pod Clips: Lex Fridman-style cuts for LinkedIn/YouTube cross-posting
  • Course Previews: Polished 2-min demos driving $597 enrollments

  • Technical Editing

    ✅ Motion graphics: After Effects (Godley table animations, Minsky cycles)
