Position: Vocal Music Teacher (Indian Classical)

Job Summary

The Vocal Music Teacher – Indian Classical is responsible for training students in Hindustani classical vocal music, including voice culture, raga development, rhythm (taal), and classical compositions. The teacher helps students develop proper singing techniques, musical understanding, and stage performance skills while preserving the traditions of Indian classical music.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Hindustani Classical Vocal Music to students of different age groups.
• Train students in ragas, alaap, bandish, taans, and voice modulation.
• Teach taal system, laya (tempo), and rhythm understanding.
• Guide students in voice culture and breath control techniques.
• Teach classical forms such as khayal, bhajan, thumri, and light classical compositions.
• Prepare students for music examinations, stage performances, and competitions.
• Develop structured lesson plans and practice routines.
• Conduct individual and group vocal classes.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback for improvement.
• Participate in academy concerts, recitals, and music events.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Hindustani classical music and ragas
• Ability to train students in voice culture and classical techniques
• Good understanding of taal systems like Teentaal, Ektaal, Keharwa, Dadra
• Ability to accompany or coordinate with tabla or harmonium players
• Strong communication and teaching skills

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music
• Training under a recognized Guru or music institution
• 2–5 years teaching experience preferred
• Stage performance experience is an advantage

Additional Responsibilities

• Prepare students for music festivals, competitions, and recitals
• Support academy cultural programs and workshops
• Maintain student attendance and progress records

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
