We are recruiting for a VC backed US Fintech platform who have a fast growing client base and raised $14m in Series A funding.

Really exciting company who are using AI to automate and improve tax process for global companies when opening new legal entities (Managing all complex tax, compliance, and transfer pricing across numerous countries.

Salary: 15 LPA - 21 LPA PLUS equity.

The ideal candidate would have around 2 - 4 years experience in a similar role who is keen to learn

On-site 5 days in Bangalore office. (open to relocation from South India e.g Chennai or Hyderabad)

Start data is ASAP (need to be immediate notice up to max of 2 months)

As a global VAT/ indirect tax associate you will be a key part of their fast growing operations across multiple jurisdictions, working at the intersection of tax, product, systems, and international expansion. They previosuly have been using vendors for this role, but bringing inhouse as want to advance their ability to automate processes and leverage AI to service more clients.

This is still a fast growing funded start-up so need someone who can operate in ambiguity that would suit a role where they can build processes, and raise the bar instead of working to slow SOPs

The ideal candidate would be ambitious, and very interested in tax technology and AI to automate tax process. You would have worked with clients globally, and strong English to enable clear communication with clients / customers

Essential experience:
  • Must be a subject matter expert in VAT and have worked in global teams with potential experience in GST outside India. (e.g Australia)
  • 2 -5 years of European VAT experience specifically (Germany, Netherlands, France) and Non India GST
  • Tech savvy and organised - able to operate efficiently in a leam team and start-up environment where you build processes as you work!
  • Non-India GST and any other regions also desirable i,e US and UK
  • Can work in office 5 days per week in Bangalore and based locally or South India (Chennai, Kerala) and will relocate.

  • Duties
  • Own global VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support international expansion by managing tax registrations and ensuring operational readiness in new markets.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their broader impact on pricing, invoicing, contracts, and business models.
  • Reconcile tax-related balances within ERP, billing, and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and financial integrity.
  • Lead responses to audits, notices, and regulatory queries while maintaining strong documentation standards.
  • Identify process gaps across operations and tax workflows, and drive automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure tax logic is accurately embedded within systems.
  • Develop scalable documentation, controls, and internal playbooks to support growth.
