Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience with visual design in product or UX design environments.
  • Experience designing consumer-facing products.
  • Experience designing for TV (Living Room) devices or multi-device environments.

  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

    In this role, you will be a part of shaping the future of live connection on YouTube, where creators and audiences connect through the power of real-time interaction. As a designer with a passion for live streaming and video creation, you will bridge the gap between broadcast and conversation, crafting tools that enable real-time interactivity, across everything from global events to intimate creator solving UX issues at an unmatched scale.

    As the designer for Live viewers you will help develop and drive the design with product manager and engineering. You will inform the roadmap, and execute the design life-cycle for core live features on TV like chatting, gifting, and using multiple devices to control the experience.
    Your work directly affects the countless daily viewers of livestreams in the living Room. You will need to partner with YouTube Living Room and Live viewer teams, adopting common use cases and platform patterns to ensure seamless compatibility and best user experience.At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we share, and build community through our stories.     Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition of new features for viewers watching Livestreams on TV.
  • Stay up-to-date with the livestreaming ecosystem of apps, third party plug-ins and common capabilities used by creators.
  • Define and design progressive AI-driven live experiences that integrate thoughtful applications of GenAI while prioritizing safety and transparency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Manager and Engineering partners to build a user-centered product vision for AI assisted viewer and creator experiences, aligning on logical, iterative steps to achieve it over time.
  • Drive product innovation through ideation, concept development and user testing.
