An Urdu Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school is responsible for teaching Urdu language and literature to students (usually primary to secondary levels). The role focuses on developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills in Urdu, while promoting an appreciation for its rich literary heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Urdu language and literature as per CBSE curriculum

Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension

Teach grammar, vocabulary, poetry (shayari), and prose in an engaging manner

Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching materials

Conduct regular tests, assignments, and assessments

Evaluate students’ performance and provide constructive feedback

Encourage participation in activities like poetry recitation, debates, and writing competitions

Maintain discipline and create a positive classroom environment

Support students in board exam preparation (if applicable)

Participate in school events, cultural programs, and academic meetings

Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urdu

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (preferably in a CBSE school)
