We are an early-stage AI startup building foundational infrastructure for the next generation of Startups. As our Technical Recruiter for AI Hiring — India, you will own the full-cycle recruitment process for machine learning, AI research, and applied engineering roles across India''s rapidly expanding AI ecosystem.

India is home to one of the world''s largest and fastest-growing pools of AI/ML talent — from IIT and IISc researchers to engineers at FAANG India centres and homegrown AI startups. Your role is to tap into this talent landscape WITH_REPLACED precision, credibility, and speed. This is not a traditional recruiting role — you will need to deeply understand the nuances of India''s AI talent market and operate as a strategic partner to hiring managers, candidates, and founders alike.

What You''ll Do

Sourcing & Pipeline
  • Build proactive sourcing strategies to identify top-tier AI/ML candidates across IITs, IISc, IIITs, and other Tier-1 institutions, as well as research labs, open-source communities, and AI startups across India.
  • Develop and maintain pipelines for hard-to-fill roles including ML Research Scientists, AI Engineers, LLM/NLP specialists, and AI Product Managers — WITH_REPLACED a deep understanding of the India talent pool for each.
  • Leverage LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, ArXiv, Hugging Face, Naukri, iimjobs, and academic conferences (including local events like India AI Summit, COMAD, and regional IEEE chapters) to identify passive talent.
  • Build talent maps and compensation benchmarking reports specific to India''s AI market across metros (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi NCR, Mumbai) and emerging tech hubs.

  • Candidate Experience
  • Own the end-to-end candidate journey from initial outreach through offer acceptance, ensuring a world-class experience at every stage.
  • Write compelling, personalized outreach that resonates WITH_REPLACED technical candidates — no generic templates.
  • Act as a genuine ambassador for the company''s mission, culture, and technical vision.

  • Stakeholder Partnership
  • Partner closely WITH_REPLACED hiring managers, technical leads, and founders to define role requirements, craft accurate job descriptions, and calibrate expectations.
  • Design structured interview processes and evaluation rubrics tailored to AI/ML roles.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates, hiring metrics, and market feedback to leadership.

  • Offers & Closing
  • Lead offer negotiations including equity, compensation, and signing packages, WITH_REPLACED a strong close rate on top-tier candidates.
  • Navigate competing offers, relocations, and visa processes for international hires.

  • Employer Brand
  • Contribute to employer branding efforts including content, events, and community presence in AI/ML spaces.
  • Represent the company at AI conferences, hackathons, and university recruiting events.

    What We''re Looking For
  • 3–7 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, WITH_REPLACED at least 2 years focused on AI/ML roles.
  • Demonstrable track record of closing senior ML/AI hires in competitive markets.
  • Strong technical literacy — you understand the difference between a transformer and a decision tree, and can hold credible conversations WITH_REPLACED PhDs.
  • Experience recruiting for startups or high-growth environments where speed, creativity, and adaptability are essential.
  • Proficiency WITH_REPLACED ATS tools (Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever) and sourcing platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — especially for cold outreach and candidate engagement.

  • Preferred
  • Prior experience at an AI-native company, research lab, or frontier tech startup in India.
  • Familiarity WITH_REPLACED the India academic ecosystem — IIT/IISc PhD pipelines, MTech programs, and research publication culture.
  • Network within India''s NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or data science communities.
  • Experience managing moonlighting, notice period negotiations, and competing ESOP/retention packages — common challenges in the India AI market.
  • Background or degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.

  • What Success Looks Like

    Within 30 days: You have a clear understanding of our hiring roadmap, have built sourcing pipelines for our top 3 open roles, and have made your first qualified placements.

    Within 90 days: Your pipelines are active and efficient, time-to-fill is tracking under 45 days for mid-level roles, and hiring managers consider you a strategic partner — not just a sourcer.

    Within 6 months: You have meaningfully grown our AI team, contributed to compensation benchmarking, and begun shaping our employer brand within the AI community.
