Senior Vice President (SVP) – Data

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SVP – Data to lead the enterprise data strategy for a large-scale consumer platform . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2C or D2C companies , where data is central to driving customer acquisition, personalization, recommendation systems, and growth analytics .

This leader will oversee data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and data platforms that support millions of users and enable real-time decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Consumer Data Strategy
  • Define and execute a data strategy focused on customer growth, retention, and personalization .
  • Build data capabilities that power customer insights, recommendation engines, and marketing optimization .
  • Enable real-time analytics for user behavior and engagement .

  • Data Platform & Infrastructure
  • Lead development of large-scale consumer data platforms supporting high traffic applications.
  • Build real-time streaming data pipelines for user events, transactions, and engagement data.
  • Implement scalable data lake / data warehouse architectures .

  • AI & Personalization
  • Drive development of AI-powered personalization, recommendation systems, and customer segmentation models .
  • Partner with product teams to embed ML models into customer-facing products .

  • Growth & Marketing Analytics
  • Enable data-driven customer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle management .
  • Support growth, marketing attribution, and experimentation platforms (A/B testing) .

  • Data Governance
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and customer data protection .
  • Implement enterprise data governance, cataloging, and quality frameworks.

  • Required Experience
  • 20+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data platforms.
  • Must have leadership experience in B2C or D2C digital platforms .
  • Experience managing large-scale consumer datasets (millions of users) .
  • Proven experience leading global data teams (50–200+ engineers, scientists, analysts) .
  • Strong experience with customer analytics, personalization, and recommendation systems .
