About The Gig

A Two-Wheeler Chassis Design Engineer is responsible for the conceptualization, layout, and structural Design of motorcycle and scooter frames, swingarms, Handlebar and related structural systems. This role ensures that vehicle structures meet safety, performance, and weight targets through advanced CAD modeling and simulation.

What You’ll Do
  • Concept Visualization: Visualizing and generating feasible 3D/2D design concepts for chassis structures, considering weight, cost, quality, and performance targets.
  • System Design & Layout: Conducting layout studies for chassis systems, including frames, Handlebar, Swing Arm, Motor Mount & suspension.
  • Integration & Interfacing: Ensuring proper interfacing of chassis components with adjoining systems like the powertrain and electrical systems.
  • Process Documentation: Maintaining technical documents such as DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), design manuals, and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Value Engineering: Suggesting VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) ideas to reduce product costs without compromising performance.

  • What You Bring
  • Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on R&D experience in the automotive chassis domain, preferably specifically in the 2-wheeler Industry.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for frame and structural parts, including casting, sheet metal, forging, and fabrication.
  • Engineering Standards: Deep knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly).
  • Validation: Experience in component and subsystem level validation processes and root cause analysis for field/warranty issues.
  • CAD Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Siemens NX, for 3D modelling, and 2D drafting.
  • PLM Tools: Experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter.
  • Soft Skills: Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
