Position: STEM OCR Specialists

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $25–$40 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 15–40 hours per week for approximately 2–3 weeks

Role Responsibilities

• Validate STEM question–answer pairs extracted from textbook PDFs
• Compare extracted text with source PDFs and correct OCR transcription errors
• Fix and standardize LaTeX formatting for mathematical expressions
• Extract and label relevant textbook context such as problem statements, definitions, and solution steps
• Convert raw textbook content into structured QA format when necessary
• Evaluate solution quality for correctness, completeness, and logical consistency
• Maintain high standards for precision and formatting across datasets

Requirements

• Strong proficiency with LaTeX math formatting
• Background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related STEM field
• Ability to read and verify multi-step mathematical reasoning and proofs
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows
• Strong written communication skills for clear technical notes
