Job Summary:

The Purchase – New Product Development (NPD) Sourcing Executive will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers for new product development projects. The role involves close coordination with the R&D, Design, Production, and Quality teams to ensure timely sourcing of materials, components, and assemblies required for prototype and new product launches. The candidate will play a critical role in vendor development, cost optimization, and ensuring supply readiness during the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Development Sourcing

· Source new materials, components, and assemblies required for product development projects.

· Work closely with R&D and Design teams to understand technical specifications and sourcing requirements.

· Identify potential suppliers capable of developing new parts or technologies.

· Ensure timely procurement of prototype parts and development materials.

2. Vendor Identification & Development

· Identify and evaluate new suppliers for specialized components.

· Conduct supplier capability assessment and qualification.

· Develop a reliable vendor base for new product components.

· Coordinate with the quality team for supplier audits and approvals.

3. Costing & Negotiation

· Request and analyze quotations from suppliers.

· Conduct cost comparison and benchmarking.

· Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

· Ensure cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

· Work with R&D, Engineering, Production, and Quality departments for technical clarifications.

· Participate in product development meetings and review discussions.

· Track sourcing milestones aligned with project timelines.

5. Procurement Planning

· Ensure availability of parts required for prototypes, trials, and pilot production.

· Monitor supplier lead times and ensure adherence to project schedules.

· Support smooth transition from development stage to mass production sourcing.

6. Documentation & Compliance

· Maintain supplier records, quotations, comparison sheets, and contracts.

· Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and standards.

· Prepare reports related to costing, sourcing progress, and supplier performance.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain Management / Production Engineering / MBA (Operations or SCM).

· 1–5 years of experience in Purchase, Sourcing, or Supply Chain in manufacturing industry.

· Freshers with strong technical understanding may also be considered.
