Solution Architect - PCC Upgrade

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the PCC upgrade initiative, owning the end-to-end solution design, identifying architectural gaps, managing solution risks, and ensuring the upgraded PCC platform aligns with business, security, and performance expectations.

The role requires strong hands-on architecture experience, deep understanding of system integration, and the ability to challenge existing designs rather than blindly carry them forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Assessment & Challenge
• Review the current PCC solution architecture and identify:
• Architectural limitations
• Upgrade constraints
• Technical debt and integration risks
• Proactively challenge existing design assumptions and recommend improvements aligned with the upgraded PCC version.
• Identify expected changes in solution build due to:
• PCC version upgrade
• Dependency upgrades
• Infrastructure / cloud changes
• Security and compliance requirements
• Target Architecture & Design Ownership
• Define and document the target-state solution architecture for the PCC upgrade.
• Ensure alignment across:
• Application architecture
• Integration patterns
• Data flows
• Non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, security).
• Validate design feasibility with development, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Solution Documentation & Sign-off
• Prepare, review, and own the Solution IA (Integration Architecture) document, including:
• System interactions
• Data exchanges
• Error handling
• Security controls
• Ensure the Solution IA document meets enterprise architecture standards.
• Formally sign off on the Solution IA before build and deployment phases.
• Stakeholder & Supplier Collaboration
• Act as the primary architecture point of contact between internal teams and external suppliers.
• Review supplier-proposed designs and challenge them where needed.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to agreed architectural standards and design principles.
• Governance & Risk Management
• Participate in architecture reviews and design forums.
• Identify solution risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support release planning by validating architectural readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture roles.
• Proven experience leading platform upgrades (PCC or similar complex enterprise systems).
• Strong understanding of:
• Integration architecture
• APIs, messaging, batch processing
• Enterprise security principles
• Hands-on experience creating and reviewing Solution / Integration Architecture documents.
• Ability to push back on poor design decisions with clear technical reasoning.

Good to Have

• Experience working with regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
• Exposure to cloud-based or hybrid architectures.
• Familiarity with architecture governance processes.
