App Designer Freelance | Remote | EdTech / Consumer Mobile

You must have Edtech Experience or designing games

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building an app that helps children with ADHD and ADD unlock their full potential. Memory, focus, and executive function are not fixed traits; they are skills that can be developed with the right tools. Our product is designed from the ground up for the way neurodivergent kids actually think, play, and learn.

Our beachhead is children ages 6 to 16, though our platform also serves adults navigating ADHD and memory challenges in daily life. You will be designing for a population that has been underserved by generic edtech, and every screen you ship will matter to real kids and their families.

We are looking for a Senior App Designer who combines strong visual craft with deep empathy for users who think differently. You will own end-to-end design of our mobile experience across iOS and Android, from initial concept through pixel-perfect delivery. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role reporting directly to product leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design intuitive, engaging, and accessible mobile experiences for children and adults with ADHD and ADD
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI that reflects deep understanding of neurodivergent UX needs
  • Build and maintain a cohesive design system that scales across iOS, Android, and web
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to bring features from concept to launch, quickly
  • Support user research and usability testing with our core audience, including children and parents
  • Translate complex cognitive science concepts (memory, attention, working memory) into simple, delightful product moments
  • Iterate rapidly based on qualitative feedback and quantitative data

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of product design experience on Edtech mobile apps (iOS and Android)
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, interaction design, and UX thinking
  • Proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and auto-layout
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain and defend design decisions
  • Comfortable in fast-moving environments with a bias toward shipping
  • Genuine curiosity about learning science, neurodiversity, and child cognitive development

  • NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience designing for children or accessibility-focused products
  • Personal or professional experience with ADHD, ADD, or neurodiversity
  • Background in educational design, gamification, or behavior change UX
  • Experience with animation and motion design in mobile (Lottie, Rive, or similar)
  • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design frameworks

  • WHAT WE OFFER
  • Join a founding team of 2 doctors with decades of combined clinical experience in ADHD, learning, and cognitive development, alongside experienced engineers
  • Competitive pay and flexible engagement
  • Fully remote, async-friendly work environment
  • High-autonomy role with direct influence over product direction from day one
  • Work on a product with real social impact for neurodivergent children and families
  • Close collaboration with experienced consumer product and engineering leadership
