Senior Support / Systems Operations Engineer (Linux, AWS, Networking) required by a technology-driven organisation to help support and improve their cloud, network, and voice infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting hands-on with complex technical challenges, working across Linux environments, AWS infrastructure, and networking, and taking ownership of advanced support issues. You’ll be a key escalation point within the support team and play an important role in maintaining the reliability and performance of critical systems.

We’re looking for someone who is self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable rolling their sleeves up to investigate and resolve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Third Line escalation point for complex infrastructure, network, and application issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues across Linux server environments and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform deep root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents and improve system stability.
  • Support and maintain SIP-based communication platforms and VoIP technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve networking issues affecting system performance, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve critical incidents.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and technical mentoring within the wider support team.

  • Essential Experience
  • Third Line Support or similar infrastructure-focused role.
  • Strong experience supporting Linux-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
  • Experience diagnosing complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, self-managed technical environment.

  • Nice to Have
  • Experience working within an MSP environment.
  • Experience supporting VoIP/SIP-based systems and associated technologies.
  • Knowledge of Jira or similar ticketing systems.
  • Experience supporting software applications.
  • Exposure to JavaScript or Node.js environments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana.
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi environments.
