Data Engineer (Azure Data and Reporting)

Role Summary

• We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and implement a centralized data ingestion and reporting framework in Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on developing Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines, implementing a unified star schema data model, and supporting a governed reporting store to enable executive reporting through Power BI.
• This role is focusing on foundational data integration and reporting consolidation.
• Having knowledge of AI/ML, predictive analytics, workflow automation, or advanced automation capabilities will be good to have.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scheduled batch ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Implement and support a centralized star schema data model
• Populate and manage a governed reporting store (single source of truth)
• Perform data validation, transformation, and reconciliation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align datasets with defined KPIs
• Support development of data engineering needed for API created for Power BI dashboard
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation
• Experience integrating REST APIs with pagination, rate limits, authentication
• Experience with ERP system integrations (Sage, SAP, NetSuite) is preferred
• Experience preparing source-to-target mapping documentation.
• Experience handling user identity mapping across systems preferred

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in data engineering or data integration
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Experience designing and working with star schema data models
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
• Experience supporting Power BI datasets
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and batch data ingestion

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Azure SQL or Azure Synapse
• Understanding of data governance and reporting best practices
• Experience working with enterprise data environments
• Experience working on PowerBi Platforms
