Job Title: Senior Data Center Engineer (OpenStack & Virtualization) / Fullstack Data Center

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer to lead the deployment, management,

and scaling of our private cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge the gap between

physical hardware and virtualized resources. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of

our OpenStack environment, utilizing KVM for virtualization and Ceph for software-defined

storage. Your mission is to ensure high availability, performance, and security for our

mission-critical workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Architect & Deploy: Design and deploy production-grade OpenStack clusters (High Availability)

across multiple racks.

Virtualization Management: Optimize and maintain KVM/QEMU hypervisors, including

performance tuning (CPU pinning, HugePages, and NUMA topology).

Networking: Configure and troubleshoot Software-Defined Networking (SDN) using Open

vSwitch (OVS) or OVN within the OpenStack Neutron framework.

Infrastructure as Code: Automate server provisioning, configuration, and day-to-day operations

using Ansible, Terraform, or SaltStack.

Storage Operations: Manage block, object, and file storage services, primarily focusing on Ceph

integration with OpenStack (Cinder/Glance).

Monitoring & Support: Implement proactive monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana or ELK stack) and

participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents.

Hardware Lifecycle: Oversee physical server installation, firmware updates, and hardware

troubleshooting (Dell, HPE, or Supermicro).

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years in Data Center Operations or System Administration, with at least 3 years

focused on OpenStack.

Linux Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Ubuntu, RHEL, or Debian (Kernel tuning, systemd,

and LVM).

Virtualization: Deep understanding of KVM and the ability to troubleshoot VM-to-Hypervisor

communication.

Networking: Strong grasp of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, VXLAN, and BGP.

Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation and tool development.

Problem Solving: Proven ability to debug complex ‘distributed system ‘ issues where the root

cause could be hardware, network, or software.

Preferred ‘Bonus ‘ Skills

Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure.

Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) running on top of OpenStack (Magnum or manual).

Experience with GPU passthrough for AI/ML workloads.
