About The Role

The Senior Category Intelligence & Cost Strategy Analyst supports procurement category managers by delivering actionable insights that enhance sourcing strategies, cost reduction initiatives, and overall category performance. This role is responsible for baseline spend tracking, savings opportunity identification, and strategic reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent business acumen, and a proactive approach to identifying value levers and operational efficiencies across multiple categories.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop cost-driver models and should-cost frameworks to strengthen sourcing negotiations.
  • Identify structural cost optimization opportunities including demand management, specification harmonization, and supplier consolidation.
  • Analyze historical and current procurement spend to establish baselines and identify savings opportunities across categories.
  • Conduct supplier market analyses, total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations, and sourcing scenario simulations.
  • Provide data-driven challenge and validation of category strategies.
  • Support category managers with customized dashboards, benchmarking, and opportunity assessments.
  • Monitor commodity indices, FX exposure, and macroeconomic trends impacting procurement spend.
  • Lead value pipeline governance and ensure alignment between forecasted and realized savings.
  • Track actual savings vs. forecasted savings and support savings validation processes.
  • Work closely with Finance and Procurement teams to ensure alignment on savings reporting, cost avoidance, and budget impacts.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and long-term cost planning by providing robust spend insights.
  • Assist in supplier segmentation and prioritization based on performance, risk, and strategic value.
  • Support executive sourcing decisions through scenario modeling and financial simulations.
  • Build executive-level reports that communicate category performance, risks, and cost drivers.

  • What You Bring
  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-level data models and semantic layers.
  • Strong understanding of procurement value levers (cost reduction, cost avoidance, working capital, compliance).
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders using data storytelling and financial impact analysis.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional data transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement analytics, category management, or financial planning & analysis
  • Proven expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and data visualization best practices
  • Understanding of category management processes, strategic sourcing, and cost optimization methods
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity with procurement systems such as Oracle, D365 is a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions (procurement, finance, operations)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
