Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated SCM Buyer with a solid background in electronics and IT procurement. The ideal candidate will bring technical understanding, sourcing expertise, and analytical acumen to manage the end-to-end procurement process and contribute to strategic sourcing decisions for IT, software, and administrative categories.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and innovative solutions in electronics, IT, and software categories.

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process: planning, RFP/RFQ creation, price discovery, vendor shortlisting, evaluation, and selection.

  • Execute contract negotiations with vendors to achieve cost-effective and favourable commercial terms.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, audit norms, and reporting requirements.

  • Monitor supplier performance for quality, timely delivery, service levels, and compliance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, admin, operations, and project teams to understand and meet sourcing needs.

  • Handle complex procurement projects independently from planning to execution stages.

  • Develop and maintain Performance Metrics and KPIs to track vendor and category performance.

  • Submit regular MIS reports to management, covering cost trends, vendor performance, and risk indicators.

  • Maintain and improve audit compliance processes for procurement records and documentation.

 

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement for electronics, IT hardware/software, and administrative categories.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear presentations and reports.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and difficult conversations

 

Tools & Technical Skills

  • MS Excel (Advanced Level) – essential for analytics and reporting.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems – SAP and Tally preferred.

  • Understanding of eProcurement tools and contract lifecycle management is a plus.
