About the Role

Reporting to Director, Integrated Business planning, The Regional Planner role is to ensure efficient and strategic coordination of either demand or supply planning within APAC. Regional Planner helps the business maintain a balance between customer demand and supply capabilities, contributing to improved service levels, reduced costs, and better decision-making across departments. This role will be responsible for either demand or supply planning, depending on the evolving needs of the team. The specific area of focus (demand or supply) will be determined following a planned restructuring of the team.

Key Accountabilities

Demand Planning:
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing team to gather quantitative and qualitative forecast, product life cycle update, promotional plan.
  • Conduct pre-demand review meeting with sales & marketing at SKU level and validate outliers with cross function teams and reach consensus.
  • Develop and manage demand forecasting process across multiple BUs, leveraging statistical models, historical data, and market insights.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, business planning, finance and supply chain operation to understand demand drivers and align forecast with business goals
  • Lead the monthly demand review meeting for Medical capital equipment and accessories and consumable products with function head to sign off consensus forecast
  • Product portfolio management and maintenance and ensure phase in/out schedule in alignment with inventory/supply management.
  • Coordinate with Business on allocation decision with data-driven proposal
  • Conduct “what-if” scenario analysis to assess the impact of market changes, supply constraints, or internal disruptions and provide recommendations for actions.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast of demand from external customers for the full planning horizon (3~18 months or as per functional planning guidelines)
  • Report and analyze forecast accuracy performance metrics, and identify root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Inventory & Replenishment Planning:
  • Management of product segmentation based on ABC XYZ classification, including periodic review, sign-off and update
  • Establish inventory management strategies for each product segment by setting up the supply chain in different ways (varying lead times, altering safety stock, etc.) to improve efficiency and optimize stock holdings.
  • Replenishment Planning including rolling 12mon~18mon purchasing Forecast.
  • Create transparency over inventory composition, bucketize inventory into excess, understock, stock-out and healthy. Coordinate definition and creation of tools and dashboards to provide full transparency upon composition of actual and projected inventory.
  • Maintain close collaboration with cross function stakeholders, master planning all relevant teams to ensure strong connection between planning/execution processes and inventory management.
  • Planning Master Data steward(Lead time, ROP, SS, EOL, NPI, NRI, etc) including SAP system & Excel master file.
  • Management execution of replenishment process, in collaboration with Genpact team, to ensure process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proactively identify shortages potentially influencing on-time delivery and coordinate with Genpact & MBC on expediting or re-allocation.
  • Maintain an ongoing approach of analytical review on LIFR, OTIF, BO(supply reason) with mitigation & corrective action.

  • Projects & Continuous Process Improvement :
  • Develop opportunities for ongoing systemization of the SAP functionality enhancement for precise planning
  • Support IBP roll-out & deployment to APAC countries. Conduct best practice sharing & training/orientation to non-IBP country team.
  • Regularly engage with process stakeholders to promote IBP process awareness; strengthening integration to business planning routines and promoting engagement
  • Represent at regional level to support the development and execution of consistent global Olympus IBP standards
  • Lead improvement of existing process by working with cross functional stakeholders and continuous contribute to no-touch supply chain initiatives.

  • Qualification Requirement
  • Graduate/ Post Graduate (Any)
  • Tertiary education from a recognized institute, preferably in Supply Chain Management.

  • Core Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning practice, methodology and principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skill.
  • A good team player and possess leadership quality.
  • Pro-active, meticulous, and analytical.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to change.
  • Experienced in some level of change management.
  • Proficient in Excel data analytical skillset
  • Experience in Python, Power BI , data intelligence tool is a plus.

  • Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in demand planning, Inventory/Supply planning and material management in MNC.
