Role: QA Tester – Data & Backend (ETL / Analytics Focus)

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Contract Duration: 12 months+

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in India)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Tester with strong data analysis and backend testing expertise to join an established QA team supporting enterprise data platforms. This role focuses on validating data pipelines, reports, and backend systems across Azure-based architectures. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in advanced SQL, understands data models and ETL processes, and can independently verify data accuracy across multiple systems.

This is a 1-year engagement with immediate project needs and a fast interview process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform backend and data-focused testing across cloud-based data platforms
• Validate data pipelines, transformations, and ETL processes for accuracy and completeness
• Test and reconcile data across:
• Azure data services
• Snowflake
• Cosmos DB
• Tableau reports and dashboards
• Execute advanced SQL queries to validate:
• Data integrity
• Aggregations and calculations
• Source-to-target data mappings
• Review and understand:
• Data models and schemas
• Data mapping documents
• Overall system and data architecture
• Identify data discrepancies and work with developers and QA team members to resolve issues
• Ensure reporting outputs align with business and technical requirements
• Contribute immediately to active projects with minimal ramp-up

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in QA, data testing, or ETL testing roles
• Strong hands-on experience with advanced SQL, including:
• Inner and outer joins
• Aggregate functions
• Data validation and reconciliation queries
• Proven data analysis skills with the ability to interpret and validate complex datasets
• Experience testing ETL pipelines and backend systems
• Ability to review and understand data models, data mappings, and architecture diagrams
• Comfortable working as part of a dedicated QA team
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

Nice to Have

• Background as a developer transitioning into QA or data testing
• Experience with:
• Python
• Scala
• Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures and analytics platforms
