About the Role

Essencials is hiring a skilled Printer Technician to join our growing technical services team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of printers and IT peripherals at client sites across the city. This is a field-based role suited for someone who is technically adept, self-motivated, and committed to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission printers and multifunction devices (MFDs) at client locations.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to printers, scanners, and copiers.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of rented equipment.
• Manage consumables (toner, ink, drums) and coordinate timely replenishment.
• Maintain detailed service reports for every visit, including issue description and resolution.
• Provide basic user training to clients on printer usage, settings, and best practices.
• Coordinate with the operations team to prioritize and schedule service calls efficiently.
• Handle minor IT support tasks such as network printer setup and driver configuration.
• Maintain and manage a personal inventory of spare parts and tools.

Required Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Hardware; or equivalent vocational certification.
• 2–5 years of experience in servicing printers — HP, Canon, Epson, Ricoh, or similar brands.
• Hands-on experience with both laser and inkjet printers, as well as MFDs.
• Basic knowledge of networking for printer connectivity (LAN, Wi-Fi, IP configuration).
• Valid two-wheeler driving licence with own vehicle preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with a printer rental or managed print services company.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client visits in a day.
• Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients on-site.
• Familiarity with service management apps or mobile ticketing systems.
