Job Title: Principal Architect – Engineering & Innovation

Role Overview

• We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead architecture, engineering excellence, and innovation across multiple teams at P99Soft. This role will be responsible for overseeing 40–50 engineers, driving high-quality scalable solutions, improving delivery efficiency, and enabling AI-led innovation across projects.
• This is a strategic + hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who can operate at the intersection of technology, delivery, and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Leadership
• Define and drive end-to-end architecture for large-scale, distributed systems.
• Establish best practices for system design, scalability, performance, and security.
• Review and approve architectural decisions across multiple projects.
• Lead design of cloud-native and microservices-based systems.
• Engineering Excellence & Quality
• Standardize coding practices, design patterns, and engineering frameworks.
• Implement robust quality engineering practices (code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD).
• Drive improvements in system reliability, observability, and performance.
• Ensure teams follow clean architecture and maintainable code practices.
• Delivery & Efficiency
• Work closely with Delivery and Engineering leaders to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve development velocity and team productivity.
• Optimize resource utilization and engineering efficiency across teams.
• AI & Innovation Enablement
• Drive adoption of AI/ML and Generative AI in engineering workflows and client solutions.
• Introduce tools and frameworks for AI-assisted development, automation, and analytics.
• Lead innovation initiatives and build POCs / accelerators for clients.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship
• Provide technical leadership to 40–50 engineers across multiple teams.
• Mentor senior engineers, tech leads, and architects.
• Build a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Client & Business Alignment
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to pre-sales, solutioning, and technical proposals.
• Ensure solutions deliver business value, not just technical correctness.

Experience

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years in software engineering with strong experience in architecture roles.
• Proven experience managing or influencing large engineering teams (30–50+).
• Experience working in product engineering or services organizations.

Technical Expertise

Strong Backend Expertise In

• Java (Spring Boot ecosystem) OR
• Python (Django/FastAPI or similar)

Deep Experience With

• AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms (Azure/GCP)
• Microservices architecture
• Distributed systems design
• API design and event-driven architectures
• Frontend (Good to Have)

Exposure to React.js or modern frontend frameworks

• Understanding of full-stack system design

DevOps & Tools

• CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)

AI & Emerging Tech (Preferred)

• Exposure to:

Generative AI / LLM integrations

• AI-assisted development tools
• Data engineering / ML pipelines (nice to have)
