Purpose of the Role

To create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating early learning environment that supports the holistic development of young children through play-based, experiential, and inquiry-driven learning, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Responsibilities:

Early Years Academic Delivery
  • Plan and conduct age-appropriate learning experiences based on the preschool/Early Years curriculum framework.
  • Design engaging activities that promote language, motor skills, cognitive development, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
  • Use storytelling, play, music, art, and movement as key learning tools.
  • Create a joyful and structured classroom environment conducive to exploration and learning.

  • Assessment & Child Progress
  • Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental milestones regularly.
  • Maintain anecdotal records, portfolios, and progress reports for each child.
  • Share constructive feedback with parents regarding developmental and learning progress.
  • Identify children needing additional support and plan early interventions.

  • Curriculum & Pedagogy
  • Implement play-based, experiential, and child-centric teaching strategies.
  • Integrate sensory activities and hands-on learning materials.
  • Stay updated with Early Childhood Education best practices and developmental benchmarks.
  • Use classroom resources and learning corners effectively to enhance learning experiences.

  • Child Development & Care
  • Ensure the physical safety and emotional well-being of every child.
  • Build positive relationships that foster trust, confidence, and independence.
  • Develop routines that help children build discipline, responsibility, and self-help skills.
  • Support children in developing social skills, empathy, and collaborative behaviour.

  • Collaboration & Contribution
  • Work closely with colleagues and leaders for curriculum planning and classroom management.
  • Participate in school events, parent interactions, and professional development programs.
  • Contribute to creating an engaging and vibrant environment through themes, displays, and activities.

  • Qualifications:
  • Any Bachelor’s degree, Diploma / Course in Early Childhood Education / Child Development / related field, ECCEd preferred.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a preschool/Early Years setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and nurturing skills.
