The Pilot Line Technician, Electrical is responsible for supporting new product introduction and pilot line operations. This role involves working closely with supply chain, service, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production. The technician will be trained in the art and science of electrical assembly, pilot builds, repair, and servicing complex systems.

This position reports to Manager, Pilot Lab Operations and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Bangalore, India and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Perform soldering, rework, and modification of electrical components on PCBAs, including dense assemblies with rigid, flex, and hybrid PCB technologies
  • Execute board bring-up, electrical testing, root cause analysis, characterization, and preparation of technical test reports in collaboration with electrical engineering teams
  • Assemble, test, and validate electro‑mechanical assemblies and system‑level designs; manage lab equipment calibration, tooling, component inventory, and procurement/consignment workflows

  • The essential requirements of the job include
  • Associate of Science degree or equivalent work experience with 5+ years supporting electrical engineering in product development, including prototyping and manufacturing electro‑mechanical instruments, PCB assembly and rework, and application of mechanical and electrical theory to build, troubleshoot, and repair benchtop instruments
  • Proficiency in small‑scale assembly, adhesive bonding, subassembly integration, testing, servicing, rework, and precision soldering of miniature high‑density components, including mechanical assembly under microscopic vision
  • Demonstrated capability in electrical bring‑up, debugging, and verification testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs, with ability to meet operational requirements including 10–25% travel, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, and capability to lift up to 25 lbs

  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Ability to multi-task on several different projects and tasks concurrently
  • Ability to perform independently or as part of a team under restrictive timelines
  • Experience working in a product development environment and/or within manufacturing operations under cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations
