Role Description

This is a part-time and remote position for a Ph.D. Thesis Study focused on next-generation game engine development. The candidate will lead architctural design and R&D planning for our next gen game engine. This is a planning and software architecture role, NOT a software enginerring role and is purely academic and theoretical in its execution.

Compensation

This is an unpaid role to start with, and will lead to a paid role if you want it after your PHD is completed to lead the development of the engine. You MUST be enrolled in a relavant PHD programme and university to be accepted into this role.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Game Engine Development, Software Development, and Programming Languages (e.g., C++, C#, Python)
  • Experience with Computer Graphics, Physics Engines, and Rendering Techniques
  • Knowledge of Algorithm Design, Performance Optimization, and Data Structures
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Procedural Generation in gaming
  • Proficiency in using Game Development Tools and Frameworks such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot advisable
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage research timelines
  • Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field
