Job Title: Payroll Executive 1

1. Overview: The Payroll Executive performs a critical role in managing and processing payroll functions for the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and providing support to employees regarding payroll inquiries. The objective of this role is to maintain and enhance payroll systems while promoting a positive employee experience relating to payroll matters.


2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees with precision and within predefined timelines.

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, tax regulations, and organizational policies related to payroll.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including hours worked, deductions, and pay adjustments.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports as required.

  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with HR for updates on employee status changes, such as new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.

  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assist in the implementation of payroll systems and process improvements.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in payroll legislation and compliance.


3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, ADP, Paychex) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Familiarity with statutory compliance requirements specific to Indian payroll.

  • Knowledge of payroll processing systems and related technologies.

  • Understanding of accounting principles as they relate to payroll.


4. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Certification in payroll management or related credentials (e.g., RPA, CPP) is a plus.


5. Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Indian payroll processing and management.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and management.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
