Job Description The Paralegal Specialist provides paralegal support for Client Legal Services attorneys preparing pleadings and motions. Under general attorney supervision, this individual facilitates the discovery process, including drafting discovery, obtaining peers and experts, reviewing documents, obtaining information from clients for discovery, and preparing trial materials. This position is ideal for a highly organized, adaptable paralegal who excels in a defense-focused environment, supports multiple attorneys, and thrives under evolving priorities. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation • Draft and file pleadings, respond to discovery, and support motion practice • Order and track medical records; coordinate expert review and disclosures • Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including jury instructions when applicable • Handle e-filing in Dallas County and other Texas courts • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely service and compliance • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to maintain organized, high-quality case files • Participate in limited in-office responsibilities, such as supporting the mail hub (approx. 3x/month) Education • Candidates must have at least a certification, such as a 2-year paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or • An equivalent combination of education and 5 years paralegal experience. Minimum Requirements • 5+ years Experience as a Paralegal with a focus on insurance defense or civil litigation. • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced legal environment • Familiarity with legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings. • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
