Job Description

Motor Mechanics diagnose, service, repair, and maintain motor vehicles to ensure safe operation and performance, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Australian safety and environmental standards.

🔧 Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Diagnose engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and braking issues
  • Service and repair petrol and diesel engines
  • Replace or repair worn and faulty parts and components
  • Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and safety checks
  • Use diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and workshop manuals
  • Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance
  • Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and a clean work area
  • Follow WHS and environmental regulations
  • Complete job cards, service records, and reports

  • 🎓 Qualifications & Education
  • Recognised Automotive Mechanical Trade Qualification / Certificate III
  • Completion of apprenticeship or equivalent structured training
  • Qualification suitable for Australian skills assessment requirements

  • 💼 Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification work experience preferred
  • Experience in automotive repair and servicing environments
  • Overseas work experience accepted for migration and skills assessment purposes

  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and engine technologies
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and read technical manuals
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • 🗣Language Requirements
  • English language proficiency mandatory
  • IELTS / PTE or equivalent may be required for migration and skills assessment purposes
