Stardom Books, a US-based publishing house (with offices in India) is looking to hire motivated and talented writers and editors in Bengaluru, India. The ideal candidate is a super-excited, experienced writer and editor who is extremely comfortable with writing/editing nonfiction book chapters based on inputs from experts and research.

What is expected: Edits/Writes non-fiction book chapters based on inputs by industry experts and research. Has a journalism background and is highly proficient in written English language, usage, and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Write books and long-form articles based on outlines, expert interviews and research
• Line-edit manuscripts in English, checking for flow, comprehension, meaning and relevance.
• Research on various topics online to add the Editor’s perspective to manuscripts.
• Use online and offline tools to check for punctuation, grammar etc.
• Research and write a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms (books, website, blogs, articles, social updates, banners, case studies, guides, white papers, etc.)
• Coordinate with our clients and fulfil writing, research, editing, proofreading, and formatting required for print and digital publishing.

Requirements

• Experience as a writer/editor of books (specifically, non-fiction)
• Mastery level skills in verbal and written English communication
• Self-motivated and self-directed with a positive attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in creative writing, journalism, English, or related field
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs etc.
• Should bring their own LAPTOP to work
• Having working knowledge of using AI Tools (like ChatGPT) as a TOOL (but not for actual writing) is highly desirable.

Salary: 3 Lakhs - 4.2 Lakhs (CTC)

Expected Start Date: Immediate

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Work from our Bangalore office.

This is a full time position. Moonlighting, part-time working or freelancing is strictly not allowed.
