Job Summary

The Music Teacher (Choir) is responsible for training and directing the school choir while teaching students vocal techniques, harmony, rhythm, and musical expression. The teacher should also have strong keyboard skills to accompany choir rehearsals, assist in music instruction, and support performances during school events and services.

Key Responsibilities

- Train and conduct the school choir group for performances, competitions, and school events.
- Teach vocal techniques, pitch control, breathing, harmony, and stage presence.
- Provide keyboard accompaniment during choir rehearsals, performances, and school programs.
- Teach basic music theory, rhythm, notation, and musical appreciation.
- Prepare students for concerts, annual day programs, cultural events, and competitions.
- Select suitable choral music pieces for different age groups.
- Organize regular practice sessions and sectional rehearsals.
- Maintain discipline and encourage teamwork and confidence among choir members.
- Coordinate with school management for music events, assemblies, and special programs.
- Maintain musical instruments and ensure proper use of keyboards and other equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Music / Performing Arts (preferred).
- Strong vocal training and choir conducting skills.
- Proficiency in keyboard / piano accompaniment.
- Ability to teach music theory and sight reading.
- Experience in training children or youth choirs is preferred.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to arrange multi-part choral music (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is an advantage.

- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching music or directing a choir (preferred).

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
