Microsoft Great Plains (GP) Developer

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Microsoft Great Plains (GP) development engineer your main responsibilities will be to:

• Analyze, diagnose and resolve problems with Microsoft Great Plains (GP) applications reported by internal and external customers
• Investigate problem areas in the application and its customizations
• Advise users on the correct usage of the applications
• Suggest, implement, test and document bugfixes or build new customizations according to high quality coding standards
• Escalate issues to the Microsoft support organization as needed
• Manage the status of the problems using a ticketing system; keep customers informed about the status of the problem
• Adhere to strict SLAs, based on the priorities of the support tickets

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• In-depth knowledge of the core ERP processes in Microsoft Great Plain (GP) 5+ years of professional software development experience (Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and GP 2013/GP 2015/GP2016/GP2018/18.3 version)
• Experience with the design, development and customization of forms, reports, classes and tables in Microsoft Great Plain (GP)
• Developed Integrations, Customizations for Microsoft’s ERP Software Dynamics GP in Win Forms (.Net platform),
• Experience Dynamics GP Upgrades
• Customization of Dynamics GP Forms using Form Modifier/VBA
• Experience in writing Stored Procedures using MS SQL Server 2008/2012/2014.
• Experience of working in FRx, Management Reporter, Jet Reports, RDLC Reports, SSIS and SSRS Reports.
• Experience in Scribe, eOne SmartConnect, Microsoft eConnect and Integration Manager
• Strong application development experience using Dexterity, Report writer, VBA/ Modifier for MS Dynamics GP
• Handled various integrations in GP using eConnect, Integration Manager, VS Tools, .Net & GP Macros
• Handful experience in upgradation of Great Plains from version 8.0/ 9.0 to higher version 2013/2015/2016/2018. Also have worked on supporting application upgrades in business portal.
• Good knowledge in domain of Financial\Accounting applications
• Experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5 and Windows Forms is a plus
• Experience with Azure DevOps implementation and architecture, branching and the agile development process
• Experience with Lifecycle Services and deployment automation
• Knowledge and experience in building Canvas and Model Driven Power Apps and the Common Data Service
• Experience with MSSQL, including database tuning, detecting bottlenecks and working with SSRS and SSIS
• Experience with D365 APIs, REST/ODATA and SOAP endpoints; building custom endpoints
• Experience with Power Automate is a big advantage
• Experience with developing for Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics AX is a big plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good object-oriented software design, programming, debugging and testing skills
• Very good skills in creating and maintaining technical and functional design documents
• Good task prioritization and time management skills
• Coordinate with the off-site development team to accomplish development tasks
• Fluency in English; excellent communication and teamworking skills
