We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Consultant to support an AI-led modernization initiative for the Product Change Management process within a large global manufacturing organization.

The consultant will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to analyze and document the current Product Change Order (PCO) workflow and translate it into structured process logic that can be optimized through AI and automation.

This role will act as a bridge between manufacturing domain experts and the AI engineering team, converting operational knowledge and undocumented processes into clear, system-ready workflows that support intelligent automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in Engineering Change Management (PCO / ECN / ECR) within manufacturing environments, along with strong capabilities in process discovery, stakeholder engagement, and workflow documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Process Discovery & Stakeholder Engagement

- Conduct structured interviews and workshops with cross-functional teams including:
- Product Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Supply Chain
- Quality
- Product Management
- Document Control
- Capture tacit knowledge and undocumented workflows governing the engineering change management process.

Process Mapping & Documentation

- Map the end-to-end product change lifecycle, including:
- Change request initiation
- Engineering validation
- BOM updates
- Supplier coordination
- Production validation
- Final release
- Document variations across different types of change orders and approval workflows.

Systems & Workflow Understanding

- Analyze interactions between the change management process and enterprise systems such as:
- ERP platforms (SAP preferred)
- PLM systems
- Document management platforms
- Identify data dependencies, information flows, and system touchpoints.

Collaboration with AI & Engineering Teams

- Translate manufacturing workflows into structured inputs for AI engineering teams.
- Support identification of automation opportunities such as:
- Change request classification
- Document comparison
- BOM validation
- Risk identification and impact analysis.

Process Improvement Insights

- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and manual dependencies in the current process.
- Recommend opportunities for automation, standardization, and decision-support improvements.

Required Experience

- 8–10 years of experience in:
- Manufacturing operations
- Industrial engineering
- Product lifecycle management
- Strong understanding of engineering change management processes, including:
- Product Change Orders (PCO)
- Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
- Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
- Experience working with cross-functional manufacturing teams.
- Familiarity with manufacturing enterprise systems:
- ERP platforms (SAP preferred)
- PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or similar)
- Document management systems
- Experience conducting process discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Strong documentation, requirements gathering, and process mapping skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementations.
- Background in Industrial Engineering or Operations Excellence.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing.
- Understanding of:
- Bill of Materials (BOM) structures
- Routing and production workflows
- Manufacturing data flows.

Engagement Model
