Manager inbound & outbound logistics

Role and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Q,C,D for the department
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve operational objectives, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction in logistics and transportation services.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of logistics and transportation professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Operations Management: Oversee all logistics and transportation operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Network Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the company's transportation network, including carrier selection, route planning, and mode of transportation to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with transportation service providers, negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the performance of logistics and transportation operations, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and identifying areas for improvement
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in transportation and logistics operations, ensuring business continuity and minimizing the impact on customers.
  • Technology Implementation: Evaluate and implement logistics and transportation management systems, automation tools, and other technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency and improve visibility across the supply chain.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated with relevant industry regulations, customs procedures, and transportation laws, ensuring compliance in all logistics and transportation activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence, and implement best practices within the logistics and transportation function.

  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree/MBA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Proven experience in logistics and transportation management.

  • Strong knowledge of transportation modes, freight forwarding, warehousing, and inventory management principles.

  • Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant logistics software.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve operational issues.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, and transportation service providers.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations, customs procedures, and transportation laws.
