Role Overview

You will be responsible for financial structuring and lender relationship management for Hodular's PPA pipeline. This is a front-facing commercial role — you will be involved in significant financial decision the company undertakes, from initial deal structuring through to financial close, working in close coordination with the Founder.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Structuring
  • Structure project finance transactions for PPA/RESCO/BOOT projects, including debt-equity mix, DSCR sizing, and cash flow waterfall design
  • Develop and maintain detailed project finance models for rooftop solar IPP assets
  • Evaluate alternative financing structures including group captive arrangements, zero-equity models, and contractor-deferred payment mechanisms
  • Size debt tranches to lender DSCR requirements and establish minimum equity thresholds for each project

  • Lender & Investor Relations
  • Develop and manage institutional relationships with IREDA, SBI Green/CAG, REC Ltd, Tata Cleantech Capital, SIDBI, and NBFCs active in renewable energy lending
  • Lead preparation of Credit Information Memoranda (CIMs), lender presentations, and due diligence responses
  • Review and negotiate term sheets; develop working knowledge of security requirements, financial covenants, and DSRA norms applicable to small rooftop IPP portfolios
  • Assess eligibility of project structures for preferential green finance products and concessional lending windows

  • Pipeline & Business Development Support
  • Collaborate with the BD team to identify and qualify HT industrial consumers appropriate for PPA offtake structures
  • Participate in client meetings where project financing forms part of the commercial proposition — covering tariff design, contract tenure, and savings guarantees
  • Build and maintain a bankable project pipeline of 3–5 assets suitable for lender presentation within 6 months

  • Documentation & Post-Financial Close
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on PPA agreements, ESCO contracts, and financing term sheets
  • Maintain structured records of financial models, lender correspondence, and transaction documentation
  • Monitor project-level cash flows post-disbursement; manage lender reporting obligations and covenant compliance on an ongoing basis

  • Required Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure lending, or renewable energy developer finance
  • MBA (Finance) / CA / CFA — or B.Tech with demonstrable project finance modeling experience
  • Proficiency in project finance modeling: DSCR analysis, debt sizing, IRR computation, and cash flow waterfall structuring
  • Direct prior exposure to lending processes at IREDA, SBI, REC Ltd, or an NBFC — practical understanding of documentation, security, and disbursement requirements
  • Working knowledge of PPA/RESCO/BOOT project structures and rooftop solar project economics

  • Key Attributes
  • Established relationships with green finance or infrastructure lending desks at banks or NBFCs will be a significant advantage
  • Ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and minimal supervision
  • Long-term orientation — the role carries a clear progression path to Head of Finance / CFO as the company's asset portfolio scales

  • Nice to Have
  • Prior professional experience within IREDA, PFC, REC Ltd, or a PSU bank's project finance or infrastructure division
  • Familiarity with open access regulations and DISCOM interconnection frameworks as they relate to project-level risk
  • Working knowledge of group captive power structures and HT consumer regulatory requirements
