Job Title: Dy Manager - Logistics (Pan-India)

Department: Supply Chain / Logistics

Location: Corporate Office (with national travel)

Reporting to:Head – Supply Chain

Team Size: Regional Logistics executives , C&F agents , Transport Coordinators

Role Objective

To lead, plan, and optimize logistics operations across India ensuring on-time deliveries, lowest landed logistics cost, supplier and transporter efficiency, and strong customer service. Responsible for transportation, warehousing, dispatch planning, freight negotiations, 3PL performance, and logistics digitisation across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Transportation & Distribution
  • Design and monitor PAN-India distribution network — primary (plant to depot) and secondary (depot to customer).
  • Develop and maintain approved transporter base across all routes.
  • Drive transportation cost optimization — freight contracts, reverse auctions, FTL utilization, load consolidation.
  • Ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery performance > target.
  • 2. Warehousing & Inventory Movement
  • Manage company-owned / 3PL warehouses across India.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, cycle count compliance, FIFO, aging alerts, and storage practices.
  • Implement best practices in layout, handling, safety & space utilization.
  • 3. Freight & Cost Management
  • Negotiate annual freight contracts with transporters, 3PL partners, CFA/Depot operators.
  • Track Freight cost per MT / per shipment / per order.
  • Ownership of logistics budget and YOY savings targets.
  • 4. Vendor & 3PL Management
  • Define SLAs and KPIs for transporters, warehouse partners & CFAs.
  • Conduct quarterly vendor performance reviews.
  • Resolve claims, damages, shortages & insurance claims.
  • 5. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management
  • Reduce customer delivery complaints and improve customer satisfaction index.
  • Cross-functional coordination with sales, production, planning, finance & IT.
  • Handle priority deliveries & escalations.
  • 6. Digital & Process Improvements
  • Lead implementation and usage of TMS / WMS / GPS / e-POD / route optimization tools.
  • Drive analytics-based decisions on capacity planning, route efficiency, and demand clusters.
  • Implement SOPs, MIS & dashboard reporting across logistics.
