As a Lighting Design Engineer – Sales & Project Support at HEI Technology India Pvt. Ltd., you will play a key role in lighting design, technical solution development, and techno-commercial support across HEI’s portfolio of solar-powered outdoor lighting and smart infrastructure products. Your work will span from pre-sales technical evaluation and lighting simulations through project execution support, ensuring optimal system performance, compliance with lighting standards, and alignment with customer and project requirements.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lighting Design & Technical Solution Development

• Develop lighting designs, calculations, and photometric simulations using industry-standard tools.
• Prepare lighting layouts, technical drawings, and project-specific design documentation based on customer and site inputs.
• Support system sizing, product configuration selection, and technical feasibility validation.
• Conduct technical and techno-commercial benchmarking of third-party luminaires and lighting components available in the global market to support product selection, product portfolio development, and solution optimisation.
Sales Engineering & Techno-Commercial Support

• Support preparation of technical and techno-commercial offers in coordination with HEI sales teams in Vienna and relevant regions like KSA, UAE, and other assigned markets.
• Support project cost calculations, including COGS estimations, based on configuration, component selection, logistics, and manufacturing inputs.
• Support techno-commercial comparisons of solar versus grid-based lighting solutions, including CAPEX, OPEX, and lifecycle cost considerations.
• Provide technical inputs for tenders, customer proposals, and technical-commercial documentation.
• Support technical discussions with consultants, project partners, and customers where required in coordination with sales teams.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and solution documentation for consultants and end clients.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

• Work closely with sales and product management teams at HEI Technology International GmbH to ensure alignment of technical solutions, cost structures, and product positioning.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to ensure technical compatibility and correct product selection.
Project Execution & Technical Lifecycle Support

• Support project execution by providing technical clarifications, documentation updates, and solution adjustments during project lifecycle.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and field performance evaluation related to lighting and system behaviour.
Documentation, Knowledge & Continuous Development

• Support development of technical datasheets, application notes, and technical marketing documentation.
• Maintain structured documentation, version control, and design data management.
• Stay updated with lighting standards, solar lighting technologies, smart infrastructure trends, and relevant industry developments.
