Position Overview

The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, conducting research, guiding student projects, and contributing to academic development in the areas of Communication Design, Product Design, or Fashion Design. The role requires strong design expertise, industry awareness, and the ability to mentor students in creative thinking, problem-solving, and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Delivery

- Deliver lectures, workshops, and studio-based classes in Communication Design / Product Design / Fashion Design.
- Develop course materials, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
- Guide students in design thinking, concept development, and project execution.
- Evaluate student performance through critiques, presentations, and examinations.
- Incorporate new design technologies, tools, and software into teaching.

Student Mentorship

- Mentor and guide students on academic and creative projects.
- Supervise final year dissertations, portfolios, and design exhibitions.
- Provide career guidance and qualified portfolio development.

Research & Innovation

- Conduct research in design-related areas and publish in journals, conferences, or exhibitions.
- Participate in interdisciplinary research and innovation projects.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in design, technology, and industry practices.

Curriculum Development

- Contribute to the development and revision of curriculum and course content.
- Integrate industry practices, sustainability, and new design methodologies into programs.

Institutional & Departmental Responsibilities

- Participate in academic committees and departmental meetings.
- Assist in organizing design workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and conferences.
- Build collaborations with industry, designers, and creative organizations.
