Our lineup includes 5–25 HP electric power packs for tilling, weeding, and small farm operations, and we are progressing toward 25–50 HP EV tractors built for rugged agricultural use.

We are looking for a high-ownership Lead Engineer with strong EV expertise and prior startup experience to lead the development of our electric powertrain and vehicle electronics systems.
Role Description
You will spearhead the end-to-end engineering, integration, and validation of electric drive systems across SKY Machines' product range. This is a high-impact, early-stage engineering leadership role with ESOPs.

Key Responsibilities
EV Powertrain Engineering

• Design & integrate electric propulsion systems (5–25 HP machines & 25–50 HP EV tractors)
• Select motors, controllers, inverters, DC-DC systems, HV/LV architecture
• Develop rugged power electronics for continuous-duty farm operations
Battery, BMS & Energy Systems

• Lead LFP battery pack design
• Collaborate on BMS logic, safety, SOC/SOH, thermal management
Embedded Systems & Controls

• Oversee traction control, torque management, diagnostics, safety systems
• Implement CAN architecture & wiring harness design
Prototyping, Testing & Validation

• Build prototypes, test in field conditions
• Validate motors, controllers, batteries & full vehicle systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with mechanical, sourcing, and manufacturing teams
• Evaluate suppliers, support cost optimization & localization
Innovation & Roadmap

• Explore smart power management, telematics, autonomous-ready features
• Shape the long-term electric platform roadmap

Key Requirements
5–12+ years in EV powertrain, power electronics, or vehicle electronics
Hands-on experience with PMSM/BLDC motors, controller tuning, battery packs, BMS, HV/LV systems, CAN
Experience in EV 2W/3W/4W, agri EVs, utility EVs, or industrial electric equipment
Prior startup experience is mandatory
Ability to take end-to-end ownership in a fast-paced R&D environment

Preferred:
Agri machinery, tractor, off-highway, or high-duty-cycle vehicle experience
