Job Title: L1 Network Engineer (LAN & Wireless)

Experience Level: 1–3 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a L1 Network Engineer to provide technical support for Enterprise LAN & Wireless (Wi-Fi) Infra. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring network health, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and acting as the primary point of contact for field engineers and end-users. This role requires strong theoretical knowledge of networking protocols (CCNA level) and the ability to diagnose issues remotely using CLI and monitoring tools

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring & Incident Management (L1 Operations)
  • Ticket Handling: Acknowledge, categorize, and resolve network incidents within defined SLAs using ITIL-based ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
  • Health Checks: Perform daily health checks of critical devices (Switches, Wireless Controllers) and ensure stability of Data and Voice services.
  • Backup Management: Ensure weekly configuration backups of critical network devices are successfully executed.
  • Coordination: Act as the bridge between on-site Field Engineers, ISPs, and Senior L2/L3 Network Architects during critical outages.

  • 2 LAN (Switching) Support
  • Remote Troubleshooting: Diagnose Layer 1/Layer 2 issues remotely, including cable faults, port errors, and VLAN mismatches.
  • Configuration: Perform basic switch port configuration (VLAN assignment, Port Security) and assist in IOS/Firmware upgrades under supervision.
  • Device Management: Troubleshoot Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) issues and manage IP connectivity for peripherals (IP Phones, VC equipment, Security Controllers).

  • 3 Wireless (Wi-Fi) Support
  • Connectivity Support: Troubleshoot user issues related to Wi-Fi signal strength, authentication (802.1x), and roaming.
  • Infrastructure Management: Remotely manage Access Points (APs) and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC).
  • Implementation Support: Review Site Survey reports (e.g., AirMagnet) and guide Field Engineers remotely during the installation of new APs.
