Mumbai Mobile Creches (MMC) is a non-profit organisation that has attempted to ensure the health, safety and education of children living on construction sites for the last four decades. It runs comprehensive day care centres on construction sites, for children who are among the most vulnerable of the urban poor. MMC has been a pioneer in developing early childhood education programmes and curricula. In Mumbai, the organisation caters for over 4500 children through approximately 23 centres, every year.

Mumbai Mobile Creches is seeking an experienced person for the position of Jr. Health Officer who will be responsible for the successful planning and implementation of its programme activities. The Health and Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the following:

• To contribute to the health and nutrition programme planning, programme implementation and monitoring of work plans and deliverables.
• To plan, coordinate and execute various health services with government departments / municipal health posts, ICDS, other trusts and organizations.
• To monitor the health status and needs of the enrolled children by ensuring the completion of regular health checks, height and weight data and other anthropometric measurements.
• To coordinate and organize age-appropriate immunization for all MMC children and close check on immunization data/records.
• To develop and implement strategies for follow up of each child found to have medical and nutritional/ health problems.
• To promote and monitor centre activities related to health care and hygiene practices.
• To conduct regular visits to all the MMC centres for effective implementation of the health & nutrition programme.
• To develop proposals with timelines and budgets for health and nutrition initiatives.
• To regularly review the progress of programme implementation against plans and generate records and reports, documentation of case studies of children for internal use and funders.

Qualification:-

• Master in Public Health or Medical social work
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood health programme management.
• Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS word.

The Mumbai Mobile Creches office is in South Mumbai. Working hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month is a holiday.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
