Job Title: Manager – IT Operations & Infrastructure

Role Summary

The IT Lead will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and The IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide IT services, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. This role encompasses oversight of IT Support and Systems Administration, ERP platforms, and Network/Cloud Infrastructure, driving operational excellence and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams to deliver robust IT solutions, enforce compliance with industry standards, and optimize performance through automation and innovation. The position requires deep technical expertise in cloud computing (AWS/Azure), network architecture, ERP systems (SAP/other ERP environments), and IT service management frameworks (ITIL), combined with strong leadership and project management capabilities. The manager will also be accountable for budget control, vendor management, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring the organization’s IT ecosystem supports growth and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and mentor IT Support, ERP, and Network/Cloud teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Define team objectives, monitor performance, and implement skill development programs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Partner with Water Group and company IT leadership as an integrated, extended team, providing regular status reporting, KPI/SLA performance metrics, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement recommendations.

  • IT Operations & Infrastructure
  • Ensure 24/7 availability and optimal performance of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Oversee ERP system administration, upgrades, and integration with business processes.
  • Manage network architecture, firewalls, VPNs, end user computing and cloud infrastructure for scalability and security. This includes on-premises environments where remote access has been provided.
  • Manage on-boarding and offboarding of employees in Marmon Water environments.
  • Implement ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.

  • Strategic Planning & Innovation
  • Develop and execute IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify emerging technologies and lead digital transformation initiatives.
  • Drive automation of manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Establish annual objectives aligned with the Marmon Water IT strategy and 3-year roadmap.
  • Participate in the annual refinement of the Marmon Water Group IT strategy and 3-year roadmap

  • Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, data protection laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular IT audits and risk assessments to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Budgeting & Vendor Management
  • Prepare and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost optimization.
  • In partnership with Marmon Water US Management, establish contracts and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
  • Track ROI on IT investments and ensure alignment with business priorities.

  • Required Skills & Tools
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in IT operations and infrastructure management.
  • Proven track record in managing ERP systems, IT support and network/cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to navigate and influence within a matrixed global organization. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational excellence and innovation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading distributed teams and managing complex environments. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a focus on collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, digital transformation, and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written English communication skills sufficient to effectively support U.S.-based end users via chat, phone, and email.
  • Able to clearly articulate technical information to non-technical audiences, ensuring understanding and resolution of issues.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 to support a global operating model by working aligned with U.S. business hours, including evenings or overnight shifts local to India.
  • Strong capability to define, extract, analyse & report Service Level Agreement (SLA) and operational performance metrics from the enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Effectively collaborates with onshore US-based stakeholders to interpret trends, highlight risks, and support corrective actions.

  • Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in:
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure & Network Technologies: Firewalls, VPN, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN and Microsoft Intune, Office 365, Active Directory.
  • ERP Systems: SAP and other ERP environments.
  • IT Support Tools: ServiceNow or other ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework, cybersecurity best practices, and automation tools.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications: ITIL, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP, PMP.
  • Experience in digital transformation, process automation, and cloud migration projects.
  • Ability to lead innovation projects and implement emerging technologies.
  • CISM, and Certified ERP Professional will be added plus points.
