Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our expanding team. We are a close-knit firm committed to delivering high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services to our clients across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage bookkeeping and finalisation of accounts for Australian clients.

· Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and regular financial reviews.

· Handle EOFY payroll finalisation and STP compliance.

· Prepare financial statements for Companies, Trusts, and Partnerships.

· Prepare and lodge Income Tax Returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and Partnerships.

· Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and GST returns.

· Provide Xero software training and support to clients.

· Respond to client bookkeeping and accounting software queries.

· Communicate directly with clients to resolve queries and ensure timely completion of engagements.

· Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other government departments when required.

Required Skills & Experience

· 4–5 years of experience in an Australian accounting or taxation role.

· CA qualified or currently pursuing CA (preferred).

· Strong accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Experience with payroll processing, including awards-based payroll and EBAs.

· Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

· Ability to adapt and learn recent accounting software and technologies.

Software Experience

Experience working with the following platforms is preferred:

· Xero

· MYOB

· QuickBooks

· Xero Practice Manager

· Class Super
