Here's how you can help. We are currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Mumbai, India Regional Office team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.

Position Highlights:
As a Human Resources Generalist you’ll play a vital role in our Mumbai, India Regional Office team at Lions International.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day HR functions for the ISAME & Africa office, ensuring alignment with headquarters policies and adapting to local labor laws and cultural contexts. Coordinates talent acquisition activities, manages day to day HR administration, compliance, and payroll administration. Oversee facilities of the ISAME & Africa office and manage facilities vendors, including housekeeping, office security, and pantry services. Collaborate with Regional Manager to manage HR and Facilities’ budgets. Manage contracted facilities vendor responsible for housekeeping, security, pantry services, etc. Support the Regional Manager in tasks related to office administration and shared services (travel and logistics, dispatch, etc.)

HR Policy Management
  • Ensure local policies align with Headquarter policies and procedures, where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Partner with external resources and Division Manager, Human Resources, to maintain the employee handbook and other HR documents.

    Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full cycle recruiting for all ISAME & A office positions.
  • Build partnerships with local universities, local NGOs and recruitment agencies.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires.

  • 20%
    Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture reflective of Lions International Core Values.
  • In partnership with HQ HR and Regional Office Managers, manage reward and recognition programs.
  • Address employee grievances and mediate conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with HQ HR to conduct periodic employee engagement and other surveys. Facilitate solutions in response to employee feedback.
  • Organize team-building activities and wellness initiatives.

    Performance Management
  • With support from HQ HR, manage performance appraisal system and process.
  • Assist Managers in goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning programs for individuals and teams.

    Compensation and Benefits
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, leave policies, and retirement plans.
  • Work with HQ HR on matters of compensation analysis.

  • 15%
    HR and Payroll Administration
  • Manage payroll operations. Coordinate with Finance to administer monthly payroll. Ensure compliance and timeliness.
  • Serve as the Administrator for the HRMS portal (Leave and Time and Attendance).
  • Collaborate with HQ HR and Regional Managers to create and maintain job descriptions for ISAME & A positions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Prepare HR reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and auditors as needed.

    Facilities Management
  • End to end management of the facilities within the ISAME & A Regional Office, including vendor management, office infrastructure, supplies, travel solutions, security, housekeeping, etc.
  • Supervise the facilities staff.

  • We’re Looking for Someone With:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in Human Resources roles of progressive responsibilities in small to mid-size organizations.
  • Familiarity with Indian labor laws and international HR practices.
  • Experience in the non-profit or social sector is highly preferred.
  • Industry relevant HR certification preferred.
