1. Overview:

The HR Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our Human Resources department. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive support across a range of HR functions, including data management, policy implementation, and compliance with relevant labor laws. The objective is to streamline HR processes, maintain accurate employee records, and contribute to a positive employee experience.


2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain employee records and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data privacy regulations.

  • Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including processing paperwork and ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures.

  • Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication.

  • Process payroll data and ensure its accuracy and timely submission.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Prepare and distribute HR-related communications to employees.

  • Assist with performance management processes, including data entry and reporting.

  • Maintain accurate records related to employee leaves, absences, and time off.

  • Provide support for HR projects as needed.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.


3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), with strong data entry and analysis skills.

  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) – (Specify system if applicable, e.g., Workday, BambooHR).

  • Experience with payroll processing software (Specify software if applicable).

  • Knowledge of database management principles.


4. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Operations or related role.

  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices.


5. Skills & Experience:

  • HR Policy: Demonstrated understanding and experience in applying HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent and fair application across the organization. Ability to interpret and explain complex policies to employees.

  • Compliance & Labor Laws: Solid knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour laws. Ability to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.

  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills in Excel, including data manipulation, formula creation, pivot tables, and data analysis. Ability to use Excel to create reports and presentations.

  • Performance Management: Experience supporting performance management processes, including data entry, report generation, and assisting with performance reviews. Familiarity with performance management software is a plus.
