HEAD OF DESIGN – MONIKA ALCOBEV LTD

Work Mode: Full-Time | On-site(Mumbai Head Office )
Working Days: Monday-Saturday (2nd and 4th Saturday is off)

Working Hours: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Compensation: ₹75,000 – ₹90,000 per month

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Design will lead the creative direction and execution of all design initiatives across the company’s imported liquor portfolio. This includes brand identity development, packaging design, marketing collateral, and digital assets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, cultural relevance, and market appeal.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership
  • Define and evolve the visual identity of each imported brand in alignment with its origin, heritage, and target market.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to ensure design supports business objectives and consumer engagement.
  • Lead creative strategy for new product launches, rebrands, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Design Execution & Oversight
  • Oversee all aspects of design: packaging, labels, bottle shapes, tactile finishes (embossing, foil, textures), POS materials, and digital assets.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence across all touchpoints print, digital, experiential.
  • Approve final designs and supervise production-ready files for vendors and printers.

  • Team Management & Development
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary design team (graphic designers, illustrators, packaging specialists).
  • Establish workflows, timelines, and review processes to ensure timely delivery and high-quality output.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop systems & processes for the design team along with setting up individual KRA/KPIs for the department

  • Cultural & Market Sensitivity
  • Conduct research into regional aesthetics, traditions, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure imported brands retain authenticity while resonating with local markets.
  • Collaborate with international partners to adapt global assets for domestic relevance.

  • Vendor & Production Coordination
  • Liaise with packaging vendors, printers, and material suppliers to ensure feasibility and quality.
  • Approve mockups, prototypes, and production samples.
  • Troubleshoot design-to-production challenges, especially with tactile elements.

  • Performance & Innovation
  • Track design performance metrics (e.g., consumer feedback, shelf impact, digital engagement).
  • Stay ahead of design trends in spirits, luxury goods, and experiential branding.
  • Propose innovative design solutions that elevate brand perception and drive sales.

  • 2. DELIVERABLES
  • Brand identity systems for each imported label (logo, typography, color palette, visual language)
  • Packaging and label designs with tactile specifications
  • Marketing collateral: brochures, shelf talkers, event materials
  • Digital assets: website visuals, social media templates, email campaigns Seasonal and promotional campaign designs
  • Design guidelines and toolkits for internal and external use.

  • Timely delivery of design assets for product launches
  • Positive feedback from trade partners and consumers

  • Experience Required
  • 2–6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading design in FMCG, luxury, spirits, or premium consumer brands
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging and brand identity expertise
  • Experience managing creative teams and external vendors
  • Deep understanding of print production and tactile packaging processes
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial awareness
  • Ability to balance creativity with execution discipline
