Head of Brand & Communications

We are looking for a Head of Brand & Communications to take the SquadStack story from known-by-customers to known-by-the-market. You will build the brand, run PR, shape the narrative, and create the communication engine that takes us from 10 to 100.

This is a leadership role with real ownership: you will manage a team of 7+, report directly to the Head of Marketing, and have a seat at the table on every strategic decision about how SquadStack shows up in the world.

This is not a comms manager role dressed up with a better title. If you have built a brand from scratch at a B2B company, turned a founder into a thought leader, run a PR engine without a big-agency crutch, and can write a headline that makes a CXO stop scrolling, we want to talk.

Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Narrative
  • Own the SquadStack brand narrative end-to-end: who we are, what we stand for, and why we win. Translate product and business milestones into stories that resonate with CXOs, investors, analysts, and the broader enterprise AI market.
  • Build and maintain the brand architecture, verbal identity, and messaging framework. Every piece of external communication passes through the lens you create.
  • Lead the positioning of SquadStack as the definitive Voice AI platform for consumer sales. Differentiate us clearly from contact center incumbents, generic AI vendors, and point solutions.

  • PR & External Communications
  • Build the PR engine from the ground up. Identify the right media relationships, pitch stories, manage agency partners (if any), and drive a consistent cadence of earned media coverage in business, tech, and trade press.
  • Architect and run the CEO and founder thought-leadership program: LinkedIn content, speaking engagements, keynote decks, op-eds, and podcast appearances. Turn Apurv Agrawal into the most recognized voice in India’s Voice AI space.
  • Own analyst relations, award submissions, and industry report placements (Gartner, Forrester, G2, industry summits). Make SquadStack appear wherever enterprise buyers do their research.

  • Content, Creative & Storytelling
  • Be the chief storyteller for SquadStack. Take complex, technical product capabilities and turn them into narratives that create emotion, urgency, and memorability. We do not want feature-led marketing. We want stories that make people feel something.
  • Set the creative and editorial direction for all brand-facing content: case studies, customer stories, brand campaigns, social media, event collateral, video scripts, and sales enablement materials. You should be equally comfortable writing a 2,000-word brand essay and a 12-word LinkedIn hook.
  • Build a storytelling culture within the marketing team. Train writers and designers to think in narratives, not bullet points. Set the bar for what “great” looks like at SquadStack and hold every piece of external content to that standard.
  • Manage the creative team. Collaborate with demand generation and product marketing to ensure a unified voice across all channels.

  • Events & Community
  • Own the events strategy: CXO roundtables, industry conferences (GFF, SaaSBOOMi, ET CX Summit, India AI, etc.), partner events, and proprietary SquadStack-hosted events (roundtables, annual event).
  • Build a community presence around Voice AI and the future of consumer sales. Make SquadStack the convener of the conversation, not just a participant.

  • Team & Operations
  • Lead a team of 5+ across design, content, social, and events. Hire, mentor, and build a high-output pod that operates with agency-level speed and in-house depth.
  • Manage the brand and communications budget. Track ROI on PR, events, and brand campaigns. Report on brand metrics (share of voice, earned media value, social engagement, employer brand signals).

  • Requirements

    Must-Haves
  • 6-10 years of experience in brand marketing, communications, or PR. At least 2 of those years in a leadership role where you owned strategy, not just execution.
  • Demonstrated track record of building or significantly elevating a B2B or enterprise brand. Ideally at a SaaS company, AI company, or high-growth startup. If you did it at an agency and then went in-house, even better.
  • A creative storyteller at your core. You should be the kind of person who sees a product feature and instinctively thinks about the human story behind it, not the spec sheet. We will evaluate your ability to take a dry fact and turn it into something people want to share.
  • Exceptional writing ability. You should be able to write a press release, a LinkedIn post, a keynote script, and a brand manifesto. We will ask for a writing portfolio.
  • Experience building and running a founder/CEO thought-leadership program.
  • Strong PR instincts: media relationships (India business and tech press), story pitching, crisis communication. Bonus if you have agency-side experience at a firm like Edelman, Adfactors, Genesis BCW, or equivalent.
  • People management experience. You will inherit a team and hire into it.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. We are building the playbook, not following one.

  • Strong Preferences
  • Experience in AI, enterprise software, fintech, or a category where explaining complex technology to non-technical buyers was part of the job.
  • Familiarity with Indian enterprise selling motions. You understand the CXO buyer persona.
  • A body of creative work that shows range: campaigns, brand films, content series, founder narratives, social virality. We want to see evidence that you can make B2B feel human.
  • An eye for design. You do not need to be a designer, but you should know when something is off and be able to articulate why.
  • A personal portfolio or body of work we can look at: campaigns you shaped, brands you built, press you generated, and founders you made visible
  • Proven track record in building and scaling global brands.
  • Excellent communication and executive-level storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of product positioning, storytelling, and category creation in complex tech markets.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams (content, design, comms, PMM) and collaborating with Growth, Sales, and Product.
  • Hands-on with content and creative strategy — comfortable guiding both narrative and visual identity.
  • Analytical mindset - can link brand and product marketing efforts to pipeline and revenue outcomes.
