About the role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Head Chef / Senior Cook to join our team in a full-time,
on-site capacity. This is a hands-on cooking role best suited for someone who takes genuine
pride in preparing fresh, high-quality food every day. The ideal candidate brings deep-rooted
expertise in authentic Bengali cuisine, is confident cooking across multiple Indian and
international styles, and can work reliably within a structured, high-volume daily kitchen
environment.

What you will do:
● Plan, prepare, and cook fresh meals daily to a consistently high standard of taste,
quality, and presentation.
● Cook authentic Bengali meals — both everyday home-style preparations and traditional
regional dishes — with accuracy and genuine cultural authenticity.
● Prepare a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes across different Indian
regional and international culinary styles.
● Follow recipes, portion sizes, and ingredient specifications with precision and minimal
deviation.
● Manage the kitchen independently — overseeing daily prep schedules and cooking
timelines, and ensuring all meals are ready on time without compromising quality.
● Maintain strict cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards throughout the kitchen at
all times, in full compliance with applicable food safety regulations.
● Assist with ingredient procurement, freshness checks, and kitchen stock management —
ensuring that all raw materials are of the best available quality.
● Support and, where required, supervise junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth,
well-organised daily operations.
● Contribute ideas for new recipes and seasonal menu improvements, keeping the food
offering fresh, varied, and engaging for customers.

What we are looking for
Must have:
● A minimum of 6+ years of professional cooking experience in a kitchen, restaurant, tiffin
service, catering company, or a similar food operation.
● Strong, authentic expertise in Bengali cuisine — confident in preparing both everyday
home-style dishes and traditional festive preparations.
● Proficient multi-cuisine cooking skills, with demonstrated command across North Indian,
South Indian, and Continental styles in addition to Bengali cuisine.
● A solid understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety practices, and clean cooking
methods.
● Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently within a structured, daily
cooking routine.
● Currently based in Kolkata, or willing to relocate and work on-site full-time — this is not a
remote position.

Good to have
● Formal culinary training from a recognised hotel management institute or cooking school,
such as IHM, IIHM, or an equivalent institution.
● Prior experience in a cloud kitchen, home-delivery kitchen, tiffin service, or any
high-volume daily meal production environment.
● Experience preparing special diet meals, including low-oil, low-salt, soft food, gluten-free,
or Jain preparations.
● Basic ability to manage a small kitchen team or coordinate effectively with kitchen
helpers and support staff.
