Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech preferred)
  • Experience: 18–25 years in construction/steel structure projects
  • Minimum 8–10 years in leadership role managing large steel structure projects
  • Experience in PEB, industrial, infrastructure, or high-rise steel projects

  • Role Purpose

    · To lead, manage, and oversee the complete lifecycle of steel structure projects including design coordination, fabrication, erection, quality, safety, and commercial performance, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Project Management & Execution
  • Lead end-to-end execution of structural steel projects (PEB, heavy structures, industrial sheds, high-rise steel frameworks, etc.) ensuring adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
  • Develop project execution strategies, schedules, and resource plans
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for complex structural engineering problems.

  • 2. Design & Engineering Coordination
  • Coordinate with design consultants for structural drawings and detailing
  • Review fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and connection designs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes (IS, AISC, BS, etc.)
  • Drive value engineering and optimization in design

  • 3. Fabrication & Erection Management
  • Oversee fabrication at workshops including production planning and quality control
  • Monitor erection activities at site ensuring alignment with drawings and safety standards
  • Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Resolve site execution challenges efficiently

  • 4. Planning & Cost Control
  • Prepare, Plan and monitor project budgets and cost estimates
  • Control material wastage and optimize steel consumption
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and manage contracts
  • Ensure billing milestones and revenue realization
  • Track project progress against timelines and budgets.

  • 5. Quality & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards in fabrication and erection
  • Implement and monitor safety practices as per EHS guidelines
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and environmental regulations.
  • Drive a zero-incident safety culture
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety practices on-site.

  • 6. Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams
  • Conduct regular review meetings with stakeholders
  • Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction
  • Represent the organization in technical discussions

  • 7. Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and site teams
  • Build a high-performance culture within the team
  • Identify training and development needs
  • Ensure effective manpower utilization

  • 8. Business Development Support
  • Provide technical inputs for tendering and proposals
  • Review BOQs, specifications, and drawings during bidding stage
  • Support estimation and costing teams
  • Identify new business opportunities in steel structures

  • 9. Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and site engineers.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure high-quality output.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to junior staff.

  • Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of steel design, fabrication, and erection techniques
  • Familiarity with codes: IS, AISC, OSHA safety standards
  • Project management and planning tools (Primavera/MS Project)
  • Commercial acumen and contract management
  • Leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
