Job Summary

Cyient is seeking skilled FMS Engineers to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of Flight Management Systems. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft through advanced navigation and flight planning solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and integrate software for Flight Management Systems (FMS) in accordance with aviation standards and regulations (e.g., ARINC 424, DO-178C).
• Perform requirements analysis, system design, and software architecture for FMS components.
• Conduct rigorous verification and validation activities, including simulation, laboratory testing, and flight testing support.
• Troubleshoot and debug FMS software and hardware issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and flight test personnel.
• Generate technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and test reports.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other technical meetings.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to FMS and avionics.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in the design, development, or testing of Flight Management Systems (FMS) or other safety-critical avionics systems.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ or other relevant languages.
• Familiarity with aviation standards such as ARINC 424, DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A.
• Experience with real-time embedded systems development and testing.
• Knowledge of aircraft navigation principles, flight planning, performance calculations, and control laws.
• Proficiency with simulation tools and environments relevant to FMS development.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
